UEENEEK142A is one of the mandatory units of competency in the Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration UEE32211, and this website is designed to assist students understand the environmental impact of the Heating, Ventilation, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (HVAC&R) industry, and the legislative and other measures designed to promote environmentally sustainable work practices.


Students studying MSAENV272B from the MEM05 training package can also use this site. Your course facilitator will provide you the assessment material.


At the completion of this unit, students will understand the methods of work practice that:

  • minimise energy and material usage,
  • introduces strategies to reduce energy consumption, and
  • minimise negative impacts on the environment
